Shell to Sea Gaeltacht protest against O'Cuiv

The Minister for Community, Rural and Gaeltacht affairs, Eamon O'Cuiv was met by a Shell to Sea protest in Gweedore at the weekend.

Over 30 people lined the gates at Comharchumann Forbartha Ghaoth Dobhair to highlight the plight of the Rossport 5 and to protest against the Shell-Statoil gas project.

A spokesperson said "We are gaeltacht people supporting other gaeltacht people. We stand firm in our belief that what happened to these men was wrong. We would like to make the minister aware of this. He needs to know that people from all around the country would like to see these men free. We feel a kinship with these people."
