Former Irish President, Mary Robinson receives International Gay Human Rights Award

Former Irish President and Human Rights Commissioner, Mary Robinson, received the Outspoken award for her work in international lesbian and gay human rights.

The International Gay and Lesbian Human Rights Commission based in New York presented the award on Friday at a ceremony in New York.

The text of Robinson's acceptance speech is available at the website below. A number of Irish lgb activists travelled from Ireland to attend the ceremony and honor Robinson for her work in Ireland and abroad.
