Killing a culture for profit: The Kankuamo resist
A one-day conference featuring indigenous Colombian Kankuamo speakers speaking about the assault on their people and their culture.
11am-5pm, Saturday 16th April in the Mansion House, Dawson Street, Dublin 2.

Jaime Arias Arias, leader of the Kankuamo indigenous group, talking about the attacks on the group.
Adriana Pumarejo, Kankuamo anthropologist, talking about the revival of Kankuamo culture.

Official Opening with Deputy Lord Mayor of Dublin, Councillor Andrew Montague;
Introductory Presentations on:
* Indigenous Rights with Stefania Minervino.(MA in Social Anthropology, wrote thesis on rights of Native American peoples and Human Rights Observer on Indigenous Affairs in Guatemala between 1998 and 2000).
*Colombia Today: The Dirty War and minorities in Colombia with Gearoid O'Loinsgigh (LASC activist).
*Cultural Expression and Inclusion of Minorities in Ireland with lasc Brendan O'Caolain, Culture and Heritage group, Pavee Point.
