Iraq War & Shannon Disarmament

As part of a program of events based around the ongoing trial of the Pitstop Ploughshares, a talk and discussion will take place at 7.30pm in the Walton Theatre, Trinity College (Arts Block).

The theme of the evening is to be an analysis of the damage done in the ongoing campaign against Iraq, Ireland's complicity in that campaign and a discussion on how to end that participation.

Speakers Include:

* Kelly Dougherty - U.S. Veteran with National Guard Unit & Co-Founder of Iraq Veterans Against War (www.ivaw.net)

* Nobel Peace Laureate Mairead Corrigan Maguire (co-founder of the Peace People)

* Dennis Halliday - Former U.N. Assistant Secretary General (who resigned in protest as UN's Humanitarian Co-ordinator for Iraq)

* Kathy Kelly - Present in Iraq during Sanctions & War (nominated for Nobel Peace Prize in 2000 for her work with Voices in the Wilderness - vitw.org)
