TOKIE LAOTAN BENEFIT WITH SEAN TYRRELL, ETC. Thurs. 9 December
Many of you will know that Tokie Laotan, a native of Lagos, Nigeria, got a creditable vote in last summer’s local elections in the city’s North-east ward. Among the matters that her campaign highlighted was the necessity for a No vote in the simultaneous citizenship referendum. The printing bill for the election / referendum campaigns was considerable, and there was a financial shortfall at the end. To clear the resulting debt, a fundraiser is being held this Thursday, 9 December, in Richardson’s, Eyre Square at 9 pm. Leading local musicians, Sean Tyrrell, Ruth Dillon and Bernie O’Mahony will perform, as will a group of African Dancers. Your support will be appreciated and it should be an enjoyable event.
