This Group Is Just A SWP Front

It has no independent existence. At the last Bridge protest it organised, SWP members had placards supporting the Iraqi Resistance. They were also chanting slogans of uncritical support for the Iraqi resistance. When I mentioned Women, Socialists etc were being killed by Fundamentalists the SWP turned aggressive and accused me of being racist! This "IAWM" group had its banner on the SWP Pro Hijab protests.

I am opposed to the US/British occupation but I will not support Fundamentalists who are murdering Women, Gays and Socialists. Nor will I support protests called by those who give uncritical support to the Mullahs.

This demo does not deserve to be supported. I am not trolling. It is well known that this group is just a SWP front. It has even organised last minute public meetings deliberately timed to clash with GG anti war meetings eg 4 Dec 02.

I congratulate any group or party in demonstrating against the war, well done to all concerned.

HOWEVER , it is true that it is an SWP group and not an "antiwar" group. as such. Does 2 non SWP members mean that its not an SWP branch? Dont think so..

Bad behaviour in giving out their MArxist conference leaflets at the demonstration by a large number of demonstraters , not that there is anything wrong with marxists leaflets as such.

The real problem that it is my perception and I'm sure the perception of most observers that the SWP are using the Antiwar protest for what essentially a promotion session for the own party!!!. NO denials people that was what happenning.

SWP members. Actions like this bring you into disrepute personally because of your membership.
This tiny example is just one of a hundred cases of your party hijacking an issue, solely to press home another agenda. It means that nobody can work with you or trust you and must tell other people to do the same.

It also brings Irish Socialism into deep disrepute. Your nasty tactics are viewed by so many people as being SOCIALIST methods and bring everybodies credibility under threat.
