Mind Boggles
Perhaps its the influx of dodgy bankers at the Dublin docks development. Certainly no mention of the antiquated 'justice' system or the growing gap between rich and poor, the homeless problem, corruption, intolerance etc etc.
Economist magazine has recently named Ireland to be the country with the best "quality of life". The survey showed the United States of America placed at number 13 and Great Britain at number 29 on the list.
All but one, Australia, of the top 10 countries on the list were European.
The survey took not only into account income but a variety of other factors like health, freedom, unemployment, family life etc.
Economist stated "Ireland wins because it successfully combines the most desirable elements of the new, such as low unemployment and political liberties, with the preservation of certain cosy elements of the old..."
