Free public lecture on Na Fianna the Countess Marcivictz's rebel youth organisation and its role in the struggle for Irish Independence 1909-1923. Talk given by Donnocadh Ó Shéa historian.

On the 2nd of December there will be a public lecture on Na Fianna Éireann given by historian Donnocadh Ó Shéaghda. Na Fianna was an Irish scouting and educational movement founded by the Countess Marcivictz that played a leading role in the 1913 lockout, the 1916 rising the war of independence and the Irish civil war. Membership of the Fianna included Liam Mellows, Séan Heuston, Con colbert, Nora Conolly and the Countess however due to the age profile of the organiseation it has often been overlooked by historians. The lecture is a must for anyone interested in Irish history, Irish republicanism or the 1916 period.

The venue is the Ireland Institute No.28 Pearse st. (Pádraig Pearses former home) on Thursday the 2nd of December at 8:00pm.
Admission is free.
