On Tuesday evening the Ecology Society will host a public meeting on Grassroots Movements from the Middle East.

On Tuesday evening the Ecology Society will host a public meeting on Grassroots Movements from the Middle East.

The meeting will feature contributions from Saif, a Palestinian activist with the International Solidarity Movement, and from Itae, an Israeli refusenik.

The speakers are currently touring Europe as part of an initiative to spread awareness of their movements here in the West, to make human connections and to encourage the cross-pollination of our movements.

They will also be selling publications connected to their speaking topics, and bric-a-brac made by Palestinian refugees living in camps outside their homelands. Funds generated will be funnelled back to the refugees or to the movement, as appropriate.

To commence at 8.15pm on Tuesday, November 2nd, in the seminar room of the Irish Centre for Human Rights (other side of canal from NUIG main campus, oppsite Cathedral).
