Emer Mayock released her debut album "Merry Bits of Timber" in 1996. Her main instrument is the flute but she also plays fiddle, tin whistle, uileann pipes and the cello. The album was critically acclaimed and Emer began to perform on the concert circuit in Ireland and beyond. Very soon she was performing with the likes of Paddy Glackin, Michael à Domhnaill, Donal Lunny, Flook and Breton flautist Jean-Michel Veillon.
Emer has been playing uilleann pipes and flute with the highly successful band Afro Celt Sound System since 1999. She has toured with the band worldwide, played on their Grammy-nominated record Volume 3: Further in time and has just finished recording with the band for their forthcoming release.
In 2001 Emer released her second album "Playground". She has recently worked with Greek singer Eleftheria Arvanitaki and French record producer Hughes de Courson. Emer continues to tour with the Afro Celts as well as with her own band. She is at present working on music for her third album
