DGN public open-air meeting and picnic

category dublin | anti-capitalism | event notice author Wednesday August 04, 2004 15:18author by GGer - Dublin Grassroots Network

Starting at 3pm at the bandstand in the Phoenix park.

The Bandstand is directly opposite the entrance to the zoo (just down the hill). The zoo is well sign-posted and should be easy to find. If you have any problems finding it, we will be meeting before hand at the Spike on O'Connell street at 2pm, or you can call 087-7939931 for precise directions.

After 6 months of hectic activity, DGN activists haveprobably mostly spent July recovering and getting overthe intense work of organising the mobilisations forMayday and the Bush visit. Now we need to look to thefuture and look for projects that we can work ontogether in the absence of big, spectacular events tomobilise against. Hopefully, our energy andenthusiasm will be replenished after a few weeks ofSummer sun and we will be brimming over with ideas forthe future. However, it's still Summer and it wouldbe cruel to ask people to cram into a dark meetingroom, so this meeting will take place in the open air.

This meeting does not have any set agenda beyondgeneral brain-storming about future activities. Itwill be followed by a picnic. Bring food, footballs, frisbees and any other accessories that you feel willadd to the day. Everybody is welcome.
