Disappointment and anger at judgement

The Israeli Supreme Court has rejected a plea by Mordechai Vanunu to lift the sanctions imposed on him by the Israeli State.

The US Campaign to Free Mordechai Vanunu has confirmed today that The Supreme Court of Israel in a reserved judgment, rejected a plea by Mordechai Vanunu to have sanctions against him lifted.
The judgement was published on Monday 26 July.
The result of the judgement is that, although supposedly free after his eighteen years in prison, Mordechai Vanunu, among other things, cannot leave Israel and is forbidden to speak to foreigners with impunity.
The reason given for the continued sanctions against him - unbelievaby - is that he still possesses secrets that may harm Israel.
The case was taken on his behalf by the Association of Civil Rights of Israel. His lawyers have expressed disappointment as has Mordechai himself.

The fight to free Mordechai must therefore continue.

I will be making a personal protest outside the Israeli Embassy in Dublin on Tuesday 27 July around 11 a.m.
