ANTI-POPE ALLIANCE

Form June 5th to June 6th, the Pope is visiting Bern (CH) on the occasion of the
catholic youth meeting. We the Anti-Pope alliance (APB) are therefore calling a
demo against religious fundamentalism.

The Catholic Church, along with other religious groups, has a long history of
suppression of different thinkers/behaviours and the opportunist collaboration
with the powers in charge. (Best example to mention is the foundation of the
Vatican State, which was only possible with the support of the fascist
Mussolini-regime.)
We condemn the patriarchal structures and the sexist, misogynous and homophobe
characteristics of all religions. Furthermore we cannot accept the dangerous,
human-despising and in conclusion pestilent AIDS-policy of the Vatican State.
The APB wants to counteract to the annulments of the scientific values of the
Enlightenment in favour of religious delusions. The attempts of church
institutions to gain influence on education, upbringing and politics show that
those misgivings are not unfounded.

Therefore we're calling a demonstration against religious fundamentalism on
Saturday June 5th.
2pm, Breitenrainplatz Bern, Switzerland
