Eyre Square Galway

Galway City council is currently errecting a barrier around Eyre Square in Galway. They plan to close off access to the public for around a year, while they remove most of the existing trees in the square.
They are also planning to remove the statue of Padraic O Connaire and eventually replace him with a bronze replica.

On Friday 20th at 6pm, there will be a protest candlelight vigil at Brownes Doorway as a 'Tribute to the Trees' of Eyre Square.
