London: 200,000 oppose Bush
Bush's policies have made our world a more a far more unstable and dangerous place. The so called 'war on terror' has meant death and destruction to ordinary people in Iraq and Afghanistan. It has increased the danger of more terrorist attacks taking place.
However, Bush is simply carrying through the wishes of US big business who gave generously to his campaign fund in 2000 when he was running for President. As well as opposing the war on terror and enviromental destruction that the Bush administration has brought, we need to oppose the capitalist system that he represents. Socialist Youth believes that this should be linked with the struggle for a socialist society where peoples needs come before profit.

Jump To Comment: 1 2You are Leninists so I wonder what your type of regime would be like. I reckon in the end ordinary workers would be worse off under a Leninist Dictatorship than they are under capitalism. When you think other people are not watching you let the mask slip. On the SY Discussion Web Page there are many bloodthirsty comments on what the SP will do when it gains control of the levers of State.
Your members happily regale us with stories of how opposition "Bosses Parties" will be smashed. How you will use the State to smash the "remnants of the Bourgoise". You even defend the banning of strikes.
Somehow I dont think the real story will be told on Saturday.
This is the title of a programme on TG4 at 9.35 pm, Friday.
The thesis of the directors is "While Stalin and his cronies are usually blamed for the rise of totalitarianism in the Soviet Union" the directors believe "Lenin should also shoulder some of the responsibility". They point out "mass executions and expulsions did not just happen - and Lenin had, at very least, a part to play in the planning process".
Should make for interesting viewing and result in some lively and hopefully civilised debate.
