Spanish and French Prisons today
The meeting will be addressed by the Basque political ex-prisoner Blanca Kalzakorta and by the Irish political ex-prisoner “Flash” Mc Veigh. After their presentation and the relevant questions and answers we hope there will be an opportunity for an open debate.

The event will be a public presentation of the situation of the political prisoners currently being held in Spanish and French prisons as a consequence of the political conflict between the Basque Country and the Spanish State. Issues such as prisoners rights (bails, release, health, education, visits…), special legislation, special courts, etc will be covered, as it would be any other matter that those attending want to raise.

Blanca Kalzakorta 39 years old, was arrested in 1987 in Irun, //the
border between the northern and southern Basque Country (Spain and
France).In prison for 9 months, but she has
been relative if prisoners for 14 years. Her mother was released from
prison three years ago, after serving a long sentence.
