Irish times of 6 Dec 2003 carrys a story with some stats on Shannon Traffic

AerRianta has earned 14,200,000 youros from the gig, with 115,157 troops passing thru on 1,464 flights so far this year.

this is a 58 percent increase on the traffic last year. (growth growth growwthhh!!)

14,418 troops passed thru in november (and ye thought it was all over) which signifies that traffic is on the increase again.

But that's only because last year and the year before troops were flying through shannon en route to another illegal war in afghanistan. I'd love to see the Military flight stats for the year 2000?
115 thousand troops is around 30% of america's entire force in Iraq. Of course, according to bertrude and maria o hearnia, Ireland was not participating in the Invasion
