Protest Vigil at Mountjoy Jail

All are welcome to attend, not just people from Cabra!

Cabra Anti-Bin Tax Campaign are tonight staging a one hour vigil at Mountjoy Jail in support of the imprisoned imprisoned activists.

Campaign co-ordinator Cieran Perry said today:

"People opposing the Bin Tax in our area wish to show their solidarity with the fourteen people who have been disgracefully jailed for standing up for their communities. The comfortable politicians and lobbyists have been busy in recent days lecturing us on democracy and law. In this country there is a huge difference between the law and justice. The whole basis for the introduction of the Bin Tax has been undemocratic. Many Cabra residents were unable, due to work and childcare commitments, to attend blockades during the week but will make their views heard tonight."

The Cabra Anti-Bin Tax activists will leave from The Cabra Grand on Quarry Road at 7pm to March to Mountjoy Jail for a One Hour Vigil.

Cabra marchers just passed by my house, easily a good couple hundred. Lots of support from passing vehicles. Well done to all.

(Would have joined in, but I'm dying with a cold.)
