The Irish Social Forum is organising events over three days on the theme of CO-OPERATION AND SOLIDARITY in University College Dublin, Belfield from Friday October 17 to Sunday October 19.
The Irish Social Forum is open to formal organisations and informal groups from any part of Irish society. Its establishment was called for by Irish participants at the European Social Forum to encourage ordinary people’s participation and make connections across sectors. The purpose is to articulate the needs felt within Irish society as a powerful statement of the "other world" that is not only possible but is already "under construction" in many areas. This is part of a worldwide coming together of different social movements struggling to build alternatives and reduce poverty towards a sustainable and equitable world. The underlying principle is to communicate and co- operate with each other.
On Sunday July 6th, the Irish Social Forum will be officially launched in the Teachers’ Club, Parnell Square, Dublin.
All are welcome. Please register your attendance by contacting the interim convener on www.IrishSocialForum.org or john.finnegan3@mail.dcu.ie or 01 – 8741223, or 085 1423454
This is your forum but to make it a successful one, we need to raise some funds and we need as many people as possible to get involved.
