Belfast
Second meeting of the Anti racist Network.
Dear friends
The second meeting of the Anti Racist Network shall be facilitated by the N .Ireland Chinese Welfare Association at their premises in Belfast on OCT 15th at 7pm. This follows on from the first meeting that seen many of the main ethnic minority support groups, several political parties, trade unionists, and asylum practitioners amongst others in attendance. A mapping process is under way and a proposal including that of seeing a collective, representative and visual stance against racial attacks is to be put forward. As N. Ireland becomes a more ethnically diverse society it is for progressive sections of society to stand firm and speak out against such attacks. The Anti Racist Network aims too bring many of those forces together in which we can engage, offer solidarity, advice, and to mobilise a visual presence to express our disgust to such attacks and solidarity with the victims of them. Racism and racial attacks should have no place in our society, we urge you to send a representative from your organisation to support this important initiative, or one can attend as an individual.
