Budget Must Deliver Real Measures to Address the Cost of Living Crisis

The cost of living crisis deepens by the day. Everything is going up except our benefits, pensions and wages. Household are being hit with huge increases in electricity and gas costs. They are under huge pressures as children return to school. Interest rate increases will mean higher mortgage payments

On Saturday, September 24th the Cost of Living Coalition is calling on people to protest to send a clear message to the government that we can't wait any longer for urgent action on the cost of living. Come along, bring your family and friends.

The cost of living crisis deepens by the day. Everything is going up except our benefits, pensions and wages. Household are being hit with huge increases in electricity and gas costs. They are under huge pressures as children return to school. Interest rate increases will mean higher mortgage payments.

The Government has been forced to bring its budget forward to September 27th. Now we must ensure it contains real measures to control costs and raise incomes and benefits for workers, lone parents, pensioners, student, the disabled and unemployed. We need measures to

  • To reduce the price of energy and food
  • To increase social welfare, pensions and wages. We need a Living Wage
  • To support households facing huge costs associated with the return to school
  • To freeze and reduce rents and provide adequate levels of HAP support
  • To reduce energy use and stop profiteering by energy and food companies

On Saturday, September 24th the Cost of Living Coalition is calling on people to protest to send a clear message to the government that we can't wait any longer for urgent action on the cost of living. Come along, bring your family and friends.
