“El BAILE ROJO -THE RED DANCE” (2003)
A documentary about a political party in Colombia called Unión Patriótica (Patriotic Union). About 4,000 of its members were killed in a genocide managed by politicians, paramilitaries and the state military in a plan cynically called “The Red Dance”.
The meeting will be chaired by SIPTU’s General President, Jack O’Connor and will be addressed by Aida Avella, former member of the Unión Patriótica who is now living in exile after miraculously surviving an attack in 1994.

Jump To Comment: 1 2 3Is this the jack o' connor who responded to the call for solidarity from Colombian coca cola workers who were being assinated by death squads by supporting coca cola or the one who has responded to the attacks to make irish workers pay for the bank crisis by concluding a deal (the croke park deal) which agrees they should pay for the crisis?
Serf
Why don't you come along and ask O'Connor? Seriously. If what you say is true then the solidarity with Colombia movement doesn't need such a hypocrite coat-trailing when it suits.
This is a very important documentary and it will be very interesting to hear from the UP survivor of the onslaught
